Hello, I'm Dânia
Slow Designer, mentor and autodidact
As a child I dreamed of being an astronaut or an illustrator at Walt Disney, as an archaeologist "inspired by the Indiana Jones films" or a film director "inspired by Steven Spielberg" as a teenager, but it was the universe of creativity and design that won me over.
Since I was little, I have always looked for ways to express my creativity in different ways without digital and I believe that with a simple look at the materials that are around us, we can do a lot of things or give them a second life.
My name is Dânia, I have been a graphic designer since 2017 and in 2023 I became a DGERT certified trainer.
I'm from a small town in Alto Alentejo where simplicity and nature are part of my essence.
The passion and curiosity behind the scenes of cinema guided me to the professional course in Video, Audio, Production and Post Production at EPRAL in Évora, but instead of pursuing a degree in Cinema at University Beira Interior, my path led me to graduate in Communication Applied: Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations at the Lusofóna University of Lisbon.
With the tools I learned throughout my academic and professional career I decided to embrace the area of graphic design and create environmentally friendly design services and raise awareness among people/companies about the environmental impact of materials used in design through digital content and webinars.
The story behind dansign
I created Dansign in the fall of 2020 after taking an online course on sustainable design and inspired by two designers: Victor Papanek and Mike Monteiro.
"You are responsible for what you put into the world."
This quote by Victor Papanek has become my mantra that guides me to want to do my best as a designer while launching my projects and protecting nature through my slow design and mentoring services.
My mission:
An idea, a project, a planet.
As a slow designer, I will guide you to communicate your brand through ecologically correct solutions in a simple and hassle-free way.

When I asked for a change, she made it to show how it looked, and I have to say that she was absolutely right, it really wasn't an option. The result could not have been different, the logo was beautiful, much more than I thought.
